Olde Forge Junction Inc. held its annual Brain Builders After-School Program Graduation and Volunteer Recognition Dinner recently.
Brain Builders, which meets on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons during the school year, offers homework assistance and provides a structured and safe environment that stresses responsible behavior, respect for others and positive attitudes for all students.
Participating students attend Rocky Run Elementary or Gayle Middle School and live in or near the Olde Forge neighborhood of south Stafford. Twenty-five students received graduation certificates, recognizing their regular participation and commitment to learning.
Students, families and program volunteers were treated to dinner served by Ferry Farm Baptist Church. Dinner was followed by a gospel dance by Thomas Jacobs Jr., a graduate of Courtland High School, and a motivational message by Denny Glusko, chaplain of Joe Gibbs' Youth for Tomorrow.
